Have you heard of the great Antonio Stradivari?
Antonio was an Italian cabinet maker born in 1644, and established
his shop in Cremona, Italy, where he remained active until
his death in 1737. His interpretation of geometry and design
for the violin has served as a conceptual model for violin
makers for more than 250 years.
He loved to make things by hand. He loved quality. And what
he would do is make a violin to order for you and he handed
it to you after he signed his name indelibly on the contract.
"Here it is. Play me. If you like me refer me, if you
enjoy me renew me. I'll make music in your life. I can't
play the violin so well but oh I know how to make one for
you." And what he didn't realise is both his name and
work will outlive him and always command the highest price.
